Ted Grimsrud

Ted Grimsrud is a pastor and theologian living in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He served ten years in congregational ministry and since 1996 has been a member of the faculty at Eastern Mennonite University, where he is currently Professor of Theology and Peace Studies.

Ted was born in Eugene, Oregon, and raised in rural Elkton, Oregon. A graduate of the University of Oregon, he and his wife Kathleen Temple, joined the Mennonite Church after attending Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary from which he received an M.A. in Peace Studies. His Ph.D. was received from the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California, in Christian Ethics, with an emphasis on the ethics of peacemaking.

Ted has published numerous books, scholarly, and popular articles. His most recent books are Embodying the Way of Jesus: Anabaptist Convictions for the Twenty-First Century (2007) and Reasoning Together: A Conversation on Homosexuality, co-authored with Mark Thiessen Nation (2008).

Ted and Kathleen have one son, Johan Grimsrud, one daughter-in-law, Jill Humphrey, and one grandson, Elias. They are members of Shalom Mennonite Congregation.
